On July 22, the Head of the RA NA With Honor Faction Hayk Mamijanyan, the Secretary Tigran Abrahamyan and deputies Taron Margaryan met with the Delegation led by the Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs David McAllister.

Hayk Mamijanyan informed that recently he addressed the Speaker of Parliament of Azerbaijan to meet with Armenian prisoners of war and the RA citizens held in Azerbaijan. According to him, the meeting will be of humanitarian character.

He also pointed out the reasons of the parliamentary opposition not taking part in the NA work.

David McAllister highlighted the meeting with the opposition, and he was interested in their position of the normalization of the relations with Turkey.

Hayk Mamijanyan informed that their party is not against development of the relations with Turkey, but without preconditions, “The relations with Turkey should not be interconnected with the Karabakh conflict and the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations,” the MP said. Touching upon the Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, the Head of the With Honor Faction informed that at this moment there are armed Azerbaijanis on the sovereign territory of Armenia.

The parliamentarians thanked the members of the Delegation for recently adopting four pro-Armenian resolutions by the European Parliament.
